Stay in your lane!

I was reading today and came along this passage.

1 Thessalonians 4: 11-12 (NLT)
"Make it your own goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others."
To often we get caught up watching what others are doing (reality tv) when what we need to do is focus on our own path and journey. From years of running hurdles one thing that stuck with me was the voice of my coaches yelling in my head, "Run with blinders on Chris!"

What does this mean?
They meant stay in your lane and run your own race. Run to your own rhythm and your own beat. It is when we attempt to run to a beat that is not our own that problems arise. We end up hitting a hurdle or falling. In other words we end up hitting a slight delay. Get up dust yourself off and regroup. Learn from your past mistake and move forward.

How do I know if I need blinders?

  • you are worried about your competition
  • you find yourself checking others grades to compare with your own
  • you max a credit card to get what your neighbor has
  • you get a car that you cannot afford to keep up with appearances
  • your scared to start a fitness class because your too concerned that others will out perform you

Set your mind steadfast on your prize. The promise that you made to yourself. Your goal.

Remember this one thing!

Pain and promise! Endure the pain to get the promise! The pain has an expiration date! But that promise is forever!

Make Your movie. It is your movie and there is only one star actor. Which is you!
NEVER GIVE UP!
